Dispensing cell with automatic part recognition at the productronica 2013

During the four days of special trade show productronica from November 12-15, 2013 Sonderhoff presents the compactly designed dispensing cell SMART - DM 402 in hall A3 / stand 350.

Highlight is a high-performance optic system as optional equipment for the SMART - DM 402 that automatically recognizes various shapes and sizes of industrial parts anywhere positioned on the conveyor belt.
The recorded image data are transferred to the CNC controller of the dispensing cell. On that data basis the dosing contour program is adjusted accordingly to the different part geometries. Thus, the path control of the 3-axis linear robot is corrected in such a way that the application of foam sealing, gluing and potting always starts precisely at the right point of the part.

The dispensing cell SMART - DM 402 can be equipped with the mixing heads MK 625 or MK 650 for micro-seals (up to 2 mm). The discharge performance of these mixing heads lies between 0.05 and 2.0g/s. The system can process viscosities of the sealing material between 300 and 2 million mPa?s without problems and the mixing ratio can be set continuously from 10:1 to 1:10.

In particular with the mixing head MK 650 very small 2-component foam gaskets from the Sonderhoff product family FERMAPOR® K31, the so-called micro-seals, can be applied with a discharge performance of up to 0.2 g/s. The application of 2-component sealing adhesives is possible with a discharge volume of up to 0.5 g/s at the ideal mixing ratio of 1:1. In the case of encapsulation of electronic components with FERMADUR® potting systems from Sonderhoff the possible dosing ischarge volume lies even as low as 0.05 g/s.

The Sonderhoff 3-axis linear robot of the SMART - DM 402 scans industrial parts to be sealed within a traversing range of up to 500 x 500 mm (width x depth) and up to part heights of 200 mm. This is primarily interesting for customers from the electronics, telecommunications and medical devices industry, who need to seal particularly small parts and system components. The SMART - DM 402 with its overall dimensions of 1200 x 1200 x 2300 mm (width x depth x height) requires only minimal space and can be easily integrated into existing production concepts.

Due to the automatic part recognition the customer can save on investment costs for the holding fixture of parts at the mixing and dosing machine and avoid costly installation times. A chaotic parts feed is possible which leads to short machine set-up times and deceasing costs per unit as a result.

Sonderhoff, the sealing and potting compound specialist as well as manufacturer of mixing and dosing machines, delivers the electronics industry. Housings for electronics or doors of switch board enclosures are applied with Sonderhoff foam sealing products based on polyurethane or silicone automatically processed with a dispensing system from Sonderhoff Engineering. The foam sealings provide protection against moisture, dust and other harmful media. Electronic elements, circuit boards, relays and sensors are encapsulated or connectors are casted with potting products from Sonderhoff Chemicals for protection against outside damages.
